We have backgrounds in medicine, business, law, policing, nursing, education, early childhood development, psychology, corrections, social work and occupational therapy. What we share is a deep ambition to make the world a little better together, and helping The Tumbles realise their Vision, Purpose and Mission. Oh and you are now part of it too- by purchasing Tumble Treasures, knowing, naming and owning your Tumbles, and sharing the story as widely and creatively as you can. If you have ideas or know other people or another opportunity to help- let us know with the section at the bottom of this page. Welcome and thank you!

How were the Tumbles developed?

The Tumbles origin stories are mixed and varied. It started with a series of challenging life events, near misses and great gifts that inspired the drive to make e-motions a contributor to richer, fuller connected lives. Over more than 20 years slowly, then in a rush in 2026, the Tumbles team tapped into the above fields to inform aspects of the Tumbles taking it from an idea to reality. The information and ideas expressed on the Tumbles were developed on our own lived experience and of the practices and tips we use to help us live a little better together. It is general in nature and for ‘everyday use’. Our aim is to build community awareness and effectiveness.
It is not advice, therapy or treatment. Please contact the support services in your local area as required.

other ideas for next steps

1. Wear / use this Tumble Treasure with pride. We are all helping each other with expanding our ‘e-motional’ vocabulary, literacy and flexibility. It’s ok to feel this way.2. Knowing the expectations of the context or situation in your environment by asking yourself- ‘How am I occurring to others?’3. Pause and patiently practice noticing your inner experiences (your intent) and ask yourself- ‘What am I feeling / was I feeling?’- and Naming all the e-motions that are like this Tumble- I’m feeling x and also y, and it’s okay to feel this way, at this time, about/because…4. Owning your engagement with others in our behaviours, words, actions (your impact) and asking ourselves- What is needed next / just now…what if .. ?… Choose to:
  • make their day
  • get on my way
  • have my say
  • reset not fray
  • hear what others say
  • help where I may
  • go and play
  • rest and just stay
  • reflect and pray
  • Let go and make hay
5. (Re)Visit and share the website www.thetumbles.com to learn a little more or see how you could help spread The Tumbles story.6. Invest a little more in Tumble Treasure and ‘own’ all the tumbles- there are more than 140 Plus, we will be releasing new Tumbles. The next two being Too Too Tumble (when we feel overwhelmed), Tri Tri Tumble (when we feel determined).

Note for parents and carers
The Tumbles are aimed at adults young and old, and through their own development they may influence others including young people in their lives. Visit https://therosewayplanning.com/ if you are interested in emotional development for early childhood.Yes we have ideas for children's books based on The Tumbles.
Note for Blokes
Owning your emotions vs being owned by your emotions makes you interesting, and more importantly interested in your self worth, in others, in your relationships and in your communities. It helps you develop and use empathy, emotional availability (being open and receptive to your own and others emotions) and yes, it can be attractive to others and can help you with important relationships. We encourage you to explore this site, know, name and own all of the Tumbles and the emotions, and use them in your journey with others. We will leave you with some helpful words from Steve Hansen the coach of the All Blacks who credits the importance of sharing emotions with individual, team and organisational resilience and success. “..we don't give those people that are struggling the permission to say they’re struggling…. Our job as parents, as work colleagues is to support people, but first you’ve got to know that they need the support, and to know that, you've got to know your people, and then you've got allow them to be vulnerable'. When players or colleagues hide their feelings, it bottles up and eventually boils over, likening the repressed pressure to an erupting volcano.

How can we some share the Tumbles with our company, business, team or group?

The Tumbles vision is ‘To create a better world through enhanced emotional vocabulary, literacy and flexibility and part of our mission is to ‘Shape 10 million connections to help us know, name and own our intent and impact of our emotions.’
So we encourage you to read more on our site, purchase and share your Tumbles broadly.
Also yes- we can ‘speak at an event or do a keynote’. Please send us an email Roderick@startconsultants.com.au to see what is possible.
